STAYoung Adults of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, the Catholic Community of Palo Alto

Mass and a Movie – Sat 8/2. Join the Young Adults of Palo Alto for 5pm mass at St. Albert the Great, then see the new blockbuster “Dark Knight” (Batman). See the film for the first time with faith friends or again on the big screen. Discussion/food to follow movie.

Our own Rob Manfrey will be part of the young adult panel speaking at our monthly Summer Speaker Series about the diocesan immersion experience to the Native American reservations of the southwest on Wednesday, August 20, at St. Joseph's Parish, Mountain View.

Deanery Two - Young Adult Circle

The Young Adult Community of Deanery Two, encompassing the northern-most Catholic parishes in the Diocese of San Jose, has its own cool and informative web site: Young Adult Circle

Our Young Adult Circle offers social, spiritual, and service opportunities to the parishes of:

Palo Alto (St. Thomas Aquinas, which includes the churches of St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Albert the Great, and Our Lady of the Rosary)

Catholic Community at Stanford

Los Altos (St. Nicholas, St. William, and St. Simon)

Mountain View (St. Joseph and St. Athanasius)

Currently, in collaboration with our fellow young adults in the area, we participate actively in the following:

First Fridays - Taize Prayer around the Cross @ Mercy Center in Burlingame at 8:00pm. map
Tuesdays - Bible Study @ Stanford Catholic Community from 7:30-9:00pm. map
Wednesdays - Faith Sharing @ St. Joseph's in Mountain View from 7:00-8:30pm (582 Hope St.)
Young Adult Mass - LAST Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm Map to St. Nicholas Youth Center
(the Intersection) in Los Altos. This unique and dynamic liturgy is smaller and more intimate, focusing on introductions, live music/choir, and a dialogue homily, followed by fellowship and refreshments afterwards.

Young Adult Leadership Team

If you feel called to take a leadership role in young adult ministry for our deanery, please join our local YA Leadership Team. We meet monthly on Saturday morning at the St. Athanasius parish rectory in Mountain View (building to the left of the church facing Rengstorff). Our next meeting is August 9 from 10:00-11:00am.
